I built a website that helps users lookup the elevation of any place on earth.

Sometimes I really need to know the elevation of a specific location on earth. But there is not a easy way to get the information. For big cities, you can search "xxxx elevation" in google, and google will show the elevation information directly to you. But what if I wanna see a un-named place?

So I tried to build a website by my own. It is now published as the worldwide elevation finder. you can search for any address, or click on anywhere on the map to see the elevation information.

Then I came up with another idea, I can use the same script to build another site that can help users lookup the sunrise and sunset time.  But things never really that easy. I can get sunrise and sunset times of any place on earth. But if I display it to user, I need to know the timezone information of that place.  Finally, I found google provide timezone search service.  So my sunrise sunset times lookup tool is online now.

The reason why I am using sub-domains( sunrise.maplogs.com and elevation.maplogs.com ) instead of top domains is that I consider these websites as small parts of my main site (even if the main site is empty now).

My big plan is to build a map based playing and sharing website. Users on my site can explorer different places on different maps or modes. If they found an interesting place, they can save it to their account on my site, then share it with friends.  For example, users can share street views, 3d view of satellite maps, normal satellite map and panoramio images.

Blogger could be visted from China now

I love Google and I love Blogger! But blogspot.com was banned in China from last year! I had to redirect my blogger to my own website. Fortunately, it could be visted from China again now!

终于考完了，可以认真准备高考了

以前的日志里曾说过我在准备新加坡南洋理工大学的入学考试，现在终于完了，正在等待成绩。
出乎每个人的意料的是这次考试居然要到苏州去考，以前每次在成都都设了考点的，郁闷啊，浪费了很多时间。
苏州的开发区还真不错，有很多知名企业在那里设了厂。不过我觉得苏州的城市建设和城市管理还需加强。 去苏州最不适应的不是和成都的时差，而是那里的菜，几乎每道菜都是带甜味的，对于我们吃惯辣的人来说，吃那里的菜简直是煎熬。

考试的题虽然是用英语，但我觉得还不算很难，可是我觉得我没有考好。能不能过就要看运气了，但愿能通过;-) 现在好了，不用每天都弄英语了，可以专心准备高考了，现在反而觉得高考要轻松些，至少能清晰得明白题意。

高三最后两个月，很高兴

很久没有写了！最近发生了很多值得写事情，但是因为高三是在是太忙啦~~没有时间，所以今天才来。。。
最近我的电脑作品得了四川省的一等奖，原来听说可以有高考加分资格的，但是仔细打听，却是只能报考省内的大学时才能加分。作品已经被推荐到全国参加比赛了，如果能在高考前拿到奖就好了。。。

参加了法国南锡大学的面试

法国南锡大学在成都的几所中学招生。入学条件非常简单：通过面试、高考成绩理想。反正报名也不用交钱，所以我就去了。一来让自己将来可以有更多的选择，二来可以锻炼自己的口语（面试是用英语）。
面试那天还有点紧张，毕竟是第一次用英语参加面试。不过我自己觉得表现的还不错，一进去就不紧张了，而且内容比我想象的要轻松很多。
其实南锡大学也不错，在法国也算比较出名的，而且有500多年的历史。如果我们去了，会免除全部学费，还可以享受与法国本地学生同等的待遇。不过生活费相当贵，大概每年要5万人民币左右。 哦，还有如果真的要去法国，那么必须先在国内学半年法语，然后再到法国学半年，才能正式开始上课。 据说法国人非常有民族自尊心，不愿意学英语，所以英语基本上没有用在那边。 听别人说法语非常难学？

Am I realy lazy?

Sometimes I think I am very lazy.
Now it's winter vacation here. Since I am a Senior 3 student,I have a lot of homework.Although I have enough time to finish them,I have never finished any winter or summer vacation homework since I was a little boy. Everytime I think about this I think I am a lazy boy indeed.Just like now. But why is it that? "Once came back home,I don't wanna even touch the books. Because there are many things to play with at home."
But if I am at school I feel very positive about myself,and I don't think I am lazy at all.
It's a little strange,right?

正在准备新加坡南洋理工大学的入学考试

我从小就十分向往新加坡，梦想能到那边生活。 如果我能通过南洋理工大学的考试并拿到政府奖学金的话，梦想将成为现实！
新加坡南洋理工大学是新政府于1981年创办的国立大学，短短十余年就被评为了世界百佳大学！入学考试的题目倒不难，但问题是全部用英语考！如果看不懂题那就惨了。 英语试题是最难的，因为他们把你当成native speaker来考查的！
劳动节时就要考试，只有两个月了，而且还要兼顾高考，现在可真是紧张啊！

终于有了Google的Blog了，哈哈

Google的Blog真没有让我失望（貌似Google还没有让我失望的东西）！
在这里写东西感觉好多了，功能又多，还可以通过手机发布文章！
